Irisblaze basics name • Irisblaze age •42 moons gender • she-cat sexuality • bi clan • thunderclan rank • warrior appearance allegiance • calico she-cat with orange eyes full • Irisblaze has never exactly been a titan among her peers. She's always been a bit on the small side, ever since she was born. There's no reason for it, really. Her mother and father are both regular sized, she was born at the right time, and she grew up in newleaf and greenleaf, when prey was plentiful so she got plenty to eat. The only reason she can think of is it's the way StarClan made her. And StarClan made her beautiful. Her pelt is soft to the touch and is a conglomeration of gray, white, and ginger. It's what she was named for, the way the patches stand out but still fit together. Her muzzle is a bit on the short side, and she sometimes gets the feeling her ears are too big, but she still loves her appearance. Her favorite part of her body is her eyes, though. They're orange, like the setting sun. personality positives (at least three) + Brave- Can also be confused with recklessness. When one of her very few loved ones is in danger, Irisblaze's first reaction is to throw herself at the threat and face it herself. A fox, an enemy warrior, even a dog. If her claws can do damage and it isn't frowned on, she has no problems taking it on alone. + Protective- Irisblaze can count on one paw she really TRULY cares about. If you manage to wriggle your way through her walls to genuinely earn and deserve her protection, it is well worth it. She'll kill for you, die for you, even help you cover up a murder. She'll fight everyone and anyone that dares harm her loved ones, even if they're from her own Clan. + Snarky- She has a very... roundabout way of telling you what she means. Very rarely does she come straight out and say what she means, but neither can you really say she tiptoes around a subject. The way Irisblaze describes it: being a bitch but with style. Half of the time it's met with laughter and smiles; the other half, it makes cats walk away from her. negatives (at least three) - Violent- Never one to look for a peaceful solution, Irisblaze is always up for a fight. Doesn't matter the reason, doesn't matter if it's any of her business. Her automatic reaction to everything is usually along the lines of, "I'll kick your ass, I'll kick his ass, I'll kick my OWN ass." - Impulsive- The word 'forethought' isn't even in her vocabulary. Irisblaze thinks ahead almost as much as she apologizes. Which is, never. She's quickwitted and fast pawed enough that usually she can get out of her own messes, but the fact that she gets herself into those messes in the first place exasperates her family to no end. - Scornful- Honor, faith, nobility? Irisblaze doesn't care about it. She isn't hung up on the warrior code like the rest of the Clan cats. Really, she views them more as guidelines than actual rules. So you murdered your deputy in cold blood so you could take his place. Good on you, really shows your initiative. Just don't bother her or those she claims as hers and she'll keep mum about it. etc. = Is better at fighting than hunting = Enjoys rainy weather = Her brother is the most important cat in her life. relationships (can skip) please remove non-applicable family members. if not using this part, delete the entire section.Mother • Smokeflower, cis she-cat, Alive, Elder Brother • Sunheart, cis tom, alive, warrior mate • Crowstreak, cis tom, alive, warrior Son • Russetsky, cis tom, alive, new warrior Daughter • Sorrelnose, cis she-cat, alive, new warrior history From the moment young Iriskit opened her eyes, she was almost disturbingly protective of her brother. One would almost go as far as to call her possessive. She followed his lead everywhere, into all sorts of games and trouble, but nobody would ever mistake her for a follower. There was too much spirit to her. There was a bit of concern though. Iriskit's answer to everything was to fight. Goodnatured teasing from Sunkit? Tackle him. Other kits were mocking her smaller than average size? Whack 'em across the face. Somebody else wanted to be leader in Clan Wars? You'll have to pry it from her cold dead claws. Her mother, a gentle she-cat called Smokeflower, was at her wits' end. She tried grounding her to the nursery, punishing her with taking care of the elders, everything she could think of that didn’t involve physically discipline. Smokeflower didn’t believe in that sort of thing. Dustthorn, Iriskit's father, didn't see anything wrong with it. She never turned her claws on her Clanmates, only ever giving them bruises and embarrassment. What 5 moon old wants to admit they were bested by a halfpint half their size? He encouraged Iriskit but made sure to stress the whole 'don't bring out the claws' thing. Iriskit didn't see what the problem was, but went along with this one rule because her papa said to. She was made an apprentice alongside her brother at 6 moons old. Her mentor was a stern, no nonsense older warrior. He was well respected among their Clanmates, and many thought he would train her violence out of her and teach her some patience. The only cat in general who seemed to find this idea hilarious was Sunpaw, who said you may as well try to stop the sun from shining or the river from running. Irispaw was thankful for his understanding and acceptance. He was always her other half, the cat who knew her better than anybody, and she vowed to protect him from anything and anyone, ever. If her life could spare his, she'd gladly give it. A moon into training and Irispaw had never been more disgusted to call someone like Crowpaw a Clanmate. Crowpaw was an older apprentice, by two moons. He'd always been meek and shy, even when they were in the nursery. He'd been beneath her notice at the time, so Irispaw never paid him much attention. That changed when it came to their first shared battle training. He shied away from her blows and retreated every step and it drove her insane. Crowpaw explained that he didn't like fighting and much preferred to hunt and care for the queens and elders. Irispaw hated him and made it her mission in life to ruin his. She bullied him at every turn, calling him a coward and a mouseheart and that he might as well be a kittypet for how much use he was. Crowpaw just sat there and took it, never lashing out or talking back. It wasn't that he never grew angry. She could see it, that fire in his eyes that grew whenever she hit a sore spot. But Crowpaw never retaliated, only ever walked away, and Irispaw grew more and more frustrated as time went on. Her first battle happened when she was 10 moons old. RiverClan had been fishing on ThunderClan's side of the river, though technically ThunderClan doesn't really HAVE a side to the river. Irispaw was too excited for her first fight though, and disobeyed her mentor's orders to FLY at an enemy. Nothing bad was supposed to happen. They'd fight, she'd be praised for her invaluable fighting skills, maybe even earn her warrior name in the process. Dustthorn wasn't supposed to die. Nobody remembered seeing who dealt the death blow, but someone must up because her FATHER was laying there bleeding to death and it was all. her. fault. She helped bring his body back to camp, and Smokeflower's wail of grief still resonates with her today. During the vigil that night, Irispaw made an offhand comment on how it was a good death, how he would have wanted it. The last cat she would have expected to snap at her right then was Crowpaw, but that's exactly what he did. It was like the dam had broken with that one comment. One moment Crowpaw had his head bowed in sorrow at losing a Clanmate, the next he was right in front of her, noses practically touching. The cold fury in his eyes was unlike anything she'd seen before, and it captivated her. He told her that no death was a good death, especially such an unnecessary one. It wouldn't have happened if Irispaw would have stopped and THOUGHT for a moment. Maybe there'd been an explanation. Maybe they hadn't been hunting, maybe they were rescuing a Clanmate that had been in trouble and they'd just ended up on the wrong side of the river. But no, Irispaw, like always, only thought about herself. Crowpaw called her arrogant, selfish, so hungry for violence that she never considered the consequences of her actions. With every word he spoke, she backed up. With every step back she took, he took one forward, until Irispaw's back was pressed up against the Highrock. When Crowpaw finally stopped, he simply glared at her before stalking away. Irispaw stared after him and, while she'd never experienced the feeling before, was pretty sure she was in love. It took her a while, but eventually Irispaw worked up the nerve to... well, not apologize, she was too proud for that, but to make amends. She admitted that maybe he WASN'T a coward or useless, and he equally admitted that she wasn't arrogant or selfish. She could still stand to think more though, and Irispaw joked back, "That's what I have you for." It was the start of a brand new relationship. While Sunpaw remained Irispaw's best friend and most important cat, she could admit to herself that Crowpaw was a close second. He shared tongues with her every day and asked about her training and offered hunting tips, which she wasn't exactly the best at so they were much appreciated. He became a warrior at 13 moons, named Crowstreak for his speed. Irispaw refused to be outdone by him and received her warrior name a moon later, alongside her brother. Irisblaze was named for both her temper and fighting skills, while Sunheart was named for his compassion and kindness. Life as a warrior was almost exactly like life as an apprentice. She went on patrols, she hunted, she spent her time with Sunheart and Crowstreak. She was the last of the three to get an apprentice, but that didn't mean she never lended a paw when it came to battle training! The confession between Crowstreak and Irisblaze was actually a complete accident on Crowstreak's part. He hadn't even meant to say anything. They'd been playing around out in the forest, her chasing him around and going, "I will slaughter you and everyone you love!" And he'd thrown over his shoulder, "No don't, you have so much to live for!" At first it went over her head exactly what that meant, but then it slapped her in the face and made her trip over her paws. Crowstreak worried at first if she was okay, and it took her staring at him with wide eyes for him to realize exactly what he said. It took some awkward fumbling and stuttering conversation, but by the end of the day any secrets between the two were out and they agreed to become mates. They eventually had two kits that they named Russetkit and Sorrelkit, but Irisblaze found the queen life wasn't for her. She loved her kits with all of her heart and she made sure they knew that, but as soon as her milk dried up and they could fend for themselves she left the nursery to return to her warrior duties. She and Crowstreak continued to parent them together though, all through their kithood to their apprentices to their warrior ceremony. Which leads us to present day. What adventures await our heroes?
