EXPECTATIONS & ACTIVITY
We would like to ensure that all the proper "accomplishments" and "duties" are acted out by each rank and that every member is active. As such, we have activities that not only alert us, the staff of Escaping Shadows, that you are active, but that you are performing the proper duties of an apprentice/warrior/deputy/leader/medicine cat.
On ES, apprentices can graduate to warriors between 10-14 moons. Considering we generally go on a month-by-month basis, we feel this is plenty of time to complete the following tasks for apprenticeship training. If you are playing an apprentice and you have completed the following tasks, and your apprentice is 10 moons old, but you do not want your apprentice to be a warrior yet, please speak to your deputy!
A complete thread by our standards must have at least 10 posts from each user. For apprentices, a lesson must be completed (up to the mentor when it is done, however, it must at least reach the 20 post minimum between the two users).
APPRENTICES/MENTORS:
Before an apprentice may graduate to a warrior, the following must be completed:
-One thread focusing on hunting.
-One thread focusing on battle.
-One thread involving another mentor and apprentice (optional, but recommended).
-One thread involving interaction between the apprentice and another Clanmate.
WARRIORS:
Warriors are expected to perform in patrols at least once a month. We would like to see at least three posts in a patrol thread for each character you have to ensure that you are active and able to keep each cat that you have active.
If you are selected for a medicine cat herb patrol, you are expected to complete that thread with the medicine cat.
MEDICINE CATS:
Medicine cats are expected to have an herb collecting thread with at least one warrior, and this thread must be completed.
For training apprentices, we would like to see at least THREE completed threads with lessons. However, given that medicine cat apprentices are much different than warrior apprentices, it is up to the medicine cat when their apprentice is ready to receive their full name.
DEPUTIES:
Deputies must send out DAWN, SUNHIGH, and MOONHIGH patrols for both hunting and border patrol. These patrol messages must be sent out once a month.
We would also like for our users who are deputies to monitor the apprentice/mentor threads and send a message to the leader of their Clan when the three necessary threads are completed and the apprentice is at least 10 moons old. We like to give our users responsibilities like a real deputy would.
LEADERS:
Leaders are allowed to create plots for their Clans (must be staff approved), and when they are approved, send out PMs or make announcements regarding said plots.
Leaders are expected to perform ceremonies of all kinds. Leaders are expected to attend and speak at Gathering's. Leaders are expected to lead battles. Leaders are expected to guide their Clan, and be presently active. We ask that our leaders post at least twice a week.
IN GENERAL:
Activity checks include but are not limited to the above duties. Staff will send out a PM at the end of each month, asking a user to reply to ensure that they are active. Your Member rank (not the group 0 rank you receive when you join, the Member rank you receive when your first character is created and approved by staff) will be removed if you are not active, but you will keep your characters. You will instead be moved into the Inactive group.
To prevent being moved to the Inactive group and having to message staff to be moved back to the Member group, please make a post in the Chat board of the OOC section and tag the staff in it informing us how long you will be gone or if you will be missing an activity check! We will understand. If you are a High Rank, we will step in for you temporarily by performing the duties of your HR in the vaguest way possible.
