hey howdy hey! i'm shire and i'm 23 years old. i graduated form college this spring with a degree in ecology, and my eventual goal is to work in a zoo with the reptiles but right now I work at a dog kennel lmao. i do overnights where i clean and keep an eye on the pups, so my schedule is pretty wonky for like,,,half of the week. i work tuesdays thru fridays, with three of those days being 12 hour shifts so i won't be posting any time during like wed, thur, or friday. working uhh sucks but it pays for food for all my critters. i have 5 fish tanks, a leopard gecko, and a red tail boa. next year when i get a one bedroom apartment (finally leaving that roommate life behind) i plan on getting a dog, so thats gonna be EXCITING.

in regards to interest, i love video games, tho i mostly just play pokemon (ULTRA SUN N MOON ARE SO CLOSE), zelda, and overwatch. dragon age is a new interest as well, slowly working on inquisition. i love reading a loT especially fantasy (hmu if u have a goodreads account) and i've recently been getting back into my childhood passion of JIGSAW PUZZLES!! finally have time for hobbies now that i am a real adult with no school lmao
anime is sort of an in n out interest, gotten pickier about it
into any sort of animated movie tho, ESPECIally disney ugh
aside from roleplayin, i have a tumblr and a flight rising account, hmu about either of those

been roleplayin warriors for like,,,,12-13 years bc i cant get out of this hell
i absolutely love adopting characters, so hmu at any time if you have someone you want played that i can take a peak at
super excited to be here, though, and i can't wait to get to get to know you guys and have fun!!!!

oooooh when i visited my local kennel recently the pups were so sweet. all very good kids. a night shift sounds super, super tough though and- 12 hour shifts?!?!?!? i'd Die. over the summer i only approached that as a waitress and i totally bottomed out after two months. do you worry about getting really attached to some of the dogs you are with daily?

i had a guppy tank!!! i loved those pretty gals but couldn't do the upkeep with travel. i can't believe there's a perception that fish-keeping is easy, or any pet-keeping for that matter. if you ever wanna share pics of your many kids i would be happy to admire them. (and what type of pupper do you want?? :O i grew up with bulldogs so i have such a weakness for those good, good pillows)

i can't wait to have my dragon kids follow me about in the new pokemon game!!! i just finished the newest zelda and have been deliberating whether to get myself some dlc or buy majora's mask. i love horses and spent a dumb amount of time unlocking all the pretty outfits for them in BOTW (whoever made those mini games is a SADIST.)
i have a tumblr but you don't want to follow that mess, my interests change every 5 seconds and there is zero consistency.

gwuh 12 hours sucks so much like thankfully theres a lot to do so it doesnt drag by??? and im by myself so its kinda nice sometimes
i only gotta work 4 days tho and its easy to get overtime so..........only a little worth it
and thankfully its not a shelter so i don't have to worry about the temptation
its a boarding facility so they r dogs with home
and a lot of them are regulars
so i get attached to a bunch but a lot i get to see all the time so its really nice!!

RIGHT i worked at a pet store before and people would always come in thinking they could stick some fish in a bowl and call it quits but its actually pretty tricky?? i mean there are really no pets that should be considered '''''easy''''' like they are all difficult in different ways. like with my scaley boys even tho i dont need to walk them i gotta maintain temps and humidity and blech
gwuh bulldogs are....so cute
a german shepherd is a dream dog of mine sobs....im def getting a shelter pup tho so who knows what ill end up with!!! i def prefer larger breeds tho. never been a small dog person

I KNOW IM SO EXCITED!! and this is the last one for the 3ds so im hoping theyll move their next gen to the switch???? gwuh try majoras mask, i still havent finished it

AND I JUST GOT A sWITCH SO I AM FINALLY PLAYING THE NEW ZELDA!! i played it some before when my old roommate had it and i loved focusing on the dumb horses gwuh but then one of mine died and i screamed???
omg mine is a huge mess as well gwuh

uuuugh i know?? im glad some pet stores (or at least my local ones) are trying to educate people with this mindset instead of turning a blind eye to get a sale. it usually ends up with a dead pet within a month :< goldfish are ironically the WORST for bowls (not that any fish is suited for one), they're pond fish like kois, where the heck did the perception come from????

im glad you take care of ur boys, leopard geckos seem really cute and i love their big eyes. (i think snakes are adorable too but couldn't do the feeding, dead animals/parts freak me out like i nearly passed out during my HS dissections haha)

they're big cuddly mooshes. my boy used to sit up like a person (idk how else to describe it??? like he threw his body back???) on the couch and rested his snoring drooly face on my shoulder. a good boy.

german shepherds are lovely! its always good to have something to work towards/look forward too (for me it's a cockatiel or conure). its super nice you

oooh no im such a dumb when it comes to puzzles. i think there was a shrine in botw that took me WELL over an hour to figure out and im too stubborn to look at guides. i feel like i gotta do majora's mask; from what i hear the story/gameplay is so fantastic (and the time idea sounds so, so creative and good??)
