IN ORDER TO MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL?
Escaping Shadows is a unique warriors roleplay. It takes place in an original Clan territory, where, moons ago, the Dark Forest arose and slowly destroyed the Clans from the inside. They turned claw against claw, and tore each Clan to pieces. All that remains is their descendants, struggling to rebuild the Clans from what’s left. The only question that remains now is - will they escape the shadows left behind?

hello there! my name is hannah, I'm a sophomore in college in the lovely sunshine state, a lowkey disney vlogger (rip my reputation lmao), a communications major and double minor in theatre arts and sexuality, women's, & gender studies (though the theater department is trying to convince me to double major rip), and a stage manager/theatrical electrician/makeup & hair & costume crew extraordinaire. I'm also a co-president of my college's intersectional feminist organization, I work at our college radio station reviewing cds, a member of an organization that hosts service & academic programs on campus, and a member of our theater club that supports our second stage shows. in regards to actual jobs, I am a diplomat for my school's admissions department, and when I'm home in boston, I actually work as a doll hairstylist for american girl. there's a lot more I do but I think this list is getting boring and I just realized how much I love talking about myself. I love to chat, so feel free to contact me here or on discord: hannahbear#4389 !!
Hello!! I'm a sophomore too! Oh wow, I'm sure you are very busy and have a lot on your plate, but a lot of what you're doing sounds like a dream. I love, love theatre, but have been so nervous to do anything with it. ;^; Networking I know is vital but I have to push myself to do even basic things. Hopefully I get better with time.
Gosh, what are some of your favorite productions in general? Anything you've personally enjoyed doing?? I'd love to hear more, it sounds so interesting! I've bizarrely gotten into German stuff lately, mostly Tanz and Elisabeth, as they contain 80s style music and Sadness. Elisabeth in particular is what I binge when I'm really down.
Nothing wrong with Disney! I have a blog full of stuff from CN and Nick so I can't judge haha. My favorite is Hunchback I think, and sleeping beauty of the classics. What about you? :0
yes fellow sophomore!! I would definitely encourage you to reach out and do something in your department! My freshman year I didn't do much besides auditions until the last show of the year and I LOVED it! I love everyone in the department, both students and faculty, and you don't know until you try. I started off small so even if it's just ushering it always helps to get your foot in the door and try and get people to know your name.
I'm very mainstream with my shows, though of course I love Shakespeare, particularly the most basic of all with A Midsummer Night's Dream. My favorite musicals right now are Waitress, Newsies, Kinky Boots, and Something Rotten! Those are ones I've seen, of ones I've been in I really love Legally Blonde, Midsummer again (I played Hermia), 42nd Street, and Beauty and the Beast, just to name a few. I'm normally cast as a dancer so that's normally my ish c:
Cinderella was always my favorite as a kid, but now Rapunzel is my all time favorite princess as well as Moana. Zootopia is way up there for favorite movie as well. Hunchback is a gem though, I have to agree.
i'm not much of a musical/theatre person but a lot of people i know irl are :3 the only musicals i really give a damn about are the little shop of horrors and be more chill (and american idiot now that i think about it), so i think that's all i can talk about? the only thing i know about kinky boots is that brendon urie was in it for a little while LOL and that's about as much connection i have to it. one of my friends is going to college for theatre and while i haven't talked to her in a while i know she's slowly climbed up the ranks and now she's a manager or something?? which is really great!!!!
thank you, i want to push myself to at least Try! (ง •̀_•́)ง
i haven't had the chance to see any of those, save for a taped BATB, which isn't the same ;^; live theater is such an Experience, it makes me feel happy and awed like no other entertainment. i was lucky enough to get tickets through my class to see a local production of Much Ado About Nothing, and Beatrice and Benedick were played by an older, real life couple with evidently a lot of experience on stage. they were so, so charming. i'm dumb as heck when it comes to shakespeare but they had me laughing at every joke. I Need to see like everything you mentioned, hopefully i can one day :,)
i have an odd question; do actors do their own hair/make-up, or an artist? ive seen both so am confused as to how that works.
how could i forget about the recent ones??? i haven't seen rapunzel yet but loved moana and zootopia so i definitely should, the art/animation looks beautiful.
man you are involved with so much stuff and that's awesome!!!! i would def look into double majoring. if you are already taking a lot of the classes then it's not hard at all! i doubled in psych when i realized i was like one class away from getting it and it was like hEy why not gwuh and i love disney so much, no shame in bein a vlogger for that lion king has always been my absolute fave tho moana SHOT up there whenever it came out i'm super excited to roleplay and plot with you!!!!
honestly I love theater so much y'all it's my life and blood - I've been involved since the fifth grade. I've done a whole bunch of different stuff for it though so I really don't know my place yet. I like the backstage aspect a lot though! (also patrick I saw kinky boots twice, one time with the original cast and once with todrick hall and I cried when I met him fun fact)
shades yes!! I always tell people to just see as much theater as they can, broadway, off-broadway, community, and everything in between. I ALSO FORGOT I LOVE SPRING AWAKENING I saw the deaf west version which was amazing and life changing and I cried again. but that's an example of theater that really changed my perspective which was super awesome. & it depends on the show in regards to makeup. every company is different. the higher up the production, the more likely the show is to have a full makeup and hair team. in high school, most people did their own except for leads at my school. even then, they just got help w the big stuff. In my college, students are taught how to do their own by the crew but then get help for wigs and stuff. it really depends, there's no wrong answer. & YES I love tangled so much would recommend (whenever I'm in the magic kingdom I make my friends go see rapunzel - we saw her twice yesterday YIKES but it was memorable both times so oops)
shire There isn't a major for gender studies at my school so I can't do that one but the theater major has a BUNCH more requirements compared to the minor, and even though I'll have more than enough crew credits I can't take all those classes and keep my other minor tbh. Plus I don't like the pressure of being a major in my department lmao. the minors can basically do whatever the heck they want ?? is that bad ?? lion king was the first movie I ever stayed up late to watch which is cute ? it was always my favorite too but moana is a BOSS omg & same to you!
hannah ooooh that sounds so good!! ;_; (i love spring awakening and completely forgot to mention it too oh no). and thank you for the answer, that's super interesting!! no shame in that at all, i hope you enjoyed your trip!!! :> i haven't been since i was little and would wanna experience it as an adult, so i could remember it properly haha.
