INTRO.
NAME. tansykit > tansypaw > TANSYSPRING
AGE. 12 moons
GENDER. She-cat
CLAN. RiverClan
PERSONALITY.
ABRASIVE. It's usually very easy to know exactly what she's thinking, because, beyond common courtesy, she usually doesn't make an effort to hid her emotions. She's transparent in that aspect, simply because she doesn't care enough to be decent. Tansyspring has no convictions when it comes to being straight-forward. And when a difficult truth needs to be expressed, she will do so willingly. It's easy for her to hurt the feelings of others without even realizing it. It takes a special individual to connect with her on a meaningful level, but for those who do, they gain her unswerving loyalty for life.
AMBITIOUS. As Tansypring matured, she developed a far better work ethic. However, she was never one to simply give up. When others see roadblocks, she sees minor bumps that lead to amazing futures. And while there haven't been any negative repercussions yet, there may be some conflict for her in the way she places her goals above everything and nearly everyone else. A perfectionist with sometimes unrealistic expectations, it makes for a volatile mixture if not controlled. And that has always been something that she struggles with.
CONFRONTATIONAL. When she does speak up, she speaks loudly. A voice of opposition in her own right, she's certainly not afraid to stand alone. Such stubbornness has the potential of being an asset. However, her combativeness can easily irritate or frighten others. She unintentionally may stir up strife and contention, for the sake of proving a point.
COURAGEOUS. Tansyspring will easily make up for what is lacking in any circumstance. After reflection or a moral assessment, she will step up, no matter the odds, no matter the cause, because she knows that it's the right thing to do. For a young cat, she has an inner strength beyond her years. Of course, she feels fear, but she can master it, not allowing it to rule her in a hindering manner. And while it may not always be the smartest course of action, it is far more important to her to be remembered as a warrior with great courage, than a warrior with great cowardice.
DECISIVE. And while she herself is confident, she may inspire others to be the same. Showing complete faith in her decisions. Once she commits to a course of action, she looks firmly ahead, never pausing to doubt her choices. And while her affinity for commitment is beneficial in most scenarios, unfortunately, sometimes she gets so invested, she's reluctant to change. Refusing to abandon a sinking ship, even if there are life rafts just at the edge of reach.
ENTHUSIASTIC. Her outward enthusiasm often exceeds her. Tansyspring is generally pretty bubbly, and optimistic. She maintains a high energy in whatever task she sets herself to. If you aren't prepared to keep up with her, a lot of times she can become exhausting to be around. She doesn't always take into account heavy weighted situations, and may not know when to give things a rest. Others may believe her to be naïve or irresponsible because she lives in the moment, and doesn't think too far into remedial subjects that may bring the mood down.
FOCUSED. However, she does a pretty good job at driving out negative self-talk along with external distractions to get down to work when it counts the most. Her determination and persistence allows her to stretch herself to really discover what she is made of, excelling in ways that most would only hope to do. She takes herself and her goals seriously and thinks in big terms of what challenges she wishes to take on. But in her pursuits of a one-tracked mine, sometimes she can accidentally shut those out who care for her the most. Obsession is a serious concern, and sometimes, she doesn't understand when it would just be better to let go.
HAUGHTY. She very seldom ever has a moment of self-doubt. She's confident in herself and believes herself to be in the right on all fronts. She is bold in speaking her opinions and is unafraid to take action to further her beliefs and values. She can be counted on to put forward ideas if her voice is desired or not. And when she is particularly upset about something, she sees no room for open-mindedness, no true exchange of ideas or knowledge because she believes in her superior way of thinking.
IMAGINATIVE. Even now as she has been given her warrior name, she is always looking for a way to make things interesting. Her thoughts are vivid, as clear to her as if she were watching them play out before her. And in this trait, she often feels compelled to share exactly what goes on in the back of her mind. For her, there is nothing too big or too preposterous. Once inspired, she becomes compelled to turn her dreams into realities, leading to innovation beyond her projected years. However, if she allows her own thoughts, it becomes her own worst enemy. Distracting herself and faltering in her stride. To others, she may appear eccentric, or quirky. Giving them just another reason for valid resentment. However, she is more fond of her thoughts than judgmental glares.
IMPATIENT. Tansyspring want things in her life to happen quickly. With her sights trained on what exactly is coming down the pike. And she is generally well prepared. However, she may display a need for instant gratification on occasion. A trait leftover from when she was a kit. As a warrior, it has gotten better, but it still exists. Things rarely happen fast enough to please her, so her thoughts have the potential to quickly become negative as her assigned tasks move too slowly for her liking. While she no longer whines and complains like she used to, the thoughts are still there, and can easily affect her overall mood.
INDEPENDENT. Overall, she has a strong sense of self-awareness. She knows what she can do and is comfortable taking actions when others might be cowed in response. Past successes prove her capability, so she's able to work alone and often prefers to do so. She is very much sure of herself and isn't overly concerned about the perceptions and musings of others. As a result, she is able to focus on her goals and the task at hand. Forward-thinker, she's able to move past the status quo to embrace ideals that are ahead of her time. Though, because she is so often alone, if someone isn't perceptive to the way she operates, it could easily become a hostile situation. Her lack of concern may give her an air of aloofness, smugness, or superiority. But again, she doesn't care anyway.
PASSIONATE. As she has grown, she has developed a highly enforced sense of right and wrong. She makes decisions based on her values, to which she has unswerving loyalty. Once she's settled on a course of action in regards to her passions, she will stick to it despite potential obstacles. When opposition does occur, she is prepared to face it head-on and work to figure ways to maintain a forward momentum. The energy that she carries on her shoulder is contagious, energizing and encouraging others to jump on her bandwagon is one of the things she enjoys the most. But in her passions, she is incredibly focused, almost to the point where she may ignore or minimize her clan mates and their ideas. Her dedication to her ideals may make it difficult for her to tolerate others with opposing opinions. Tansyspring feels things deeply, which at times, can make her oversensitive and easily offended. She tends to be demonstrative with her emotions, possibly making those who are caught under her crosshairs uncomfortable with the additional pressure.
RESOURCEFUL. Part of the reason for her personal success, is her ability to be forward-thinking. She's able to anticipate problems and begin planning in advance. Which is a key component to how she handles herself on a daily routine. When a difficult situation does arise, this she-cat keeps her head, instead of panicking, she chooses to focus on finding a solution to the problem- usually in the form of something unorthodox or unconventional. But it is in her unpredictability in which she thrives. However, while she has an unparalleled confidence in herself. Sometimes, she has difficulty depending on others. Her need for self-sufficiency can absolutely lead to somewhat of an isolated state.
UNINHIBITED. Least of all, Tansyspring is highly unconcerned with social norms and the opinions of others, besides a select few in which she holds a high regard for. The structures that keep others from expressing themselves have no hold on herself. Her self-confidence may be appealing and admirable, especially to those who wish they could let go of their inhibitions. However, she does have the potential to take her individuality so far that she doesn't consider the feelings and sensitivities of others and can make a rather uncomfortable situation. Her disdain for the projected rules can cause trouble for her. And while she isn't as bad as she was in her younger days, she maintains a hold on her sharp tongue and rebellious streak. If only for the right cause. Until her respect is earned, she may express scorn for those who are more reserved, labeling them as uptight and in need of "loosening up".
OTHER TRAITS. Judgmental, Optimistic, Proactive, Pushy, Stubborn, Talented, Witty
APPEARANCE.
ALLEGIANCE. A ginger tinted white she-cat, with pale green eyes.
At the foundation of her pelt, she is adorned in a brightly colored ginger color. Best seen around her ears, and various stripe-like markings around er face and legs. But her coat is very inconsistent. Blanketed by thick white ticking, muting and saturating nearly all of her born color. It parts, it even fades out altogether, leaving solid white at her chest and belly, Pale green eyes stick out against the soft and fiery hues of her bodice.
Tansyspring bears toned muscle built for speed and agility. More noticeable in her hindquarters than in her shoulders. She is of average height for a she-cat as compared to her clanmates. And within her frame, she maintains a lithe build, verging on scrawny. But she certainly uses it to her advantage.
FAMILY.
mother • honeyflower, female, alive
father • duststripe, male, alive
sister • dovepetal, female, alive
brother • thornwhisker, male, alive
brother • pikeheart, male, alive
HISTORY.
Tansykit, and her brothers and sister had been born to a young couple. A tom and a she-cat who had been with each other long since their apprenticeship, even though he was several moons older than she. But no matter, they were in love. And it seemed very much like a hazy dream come true. His name Duskstripe, and once she got her warrior name, it was Honeyflower. It wasn't long after that did Honeyflower announce that she was expecting kits, even though, she wasn't much older than herself. 14 or 15 moons, if that. But they were excited, and she couldn't think of anything in the world she wanted to be more than a mother.
She asked for it, and she got it. Honestly, the two young warriors together weren't prepared for the handfuls they would be blessed with. Thornkit, Pikekit, and Tansykit. Each more wild than the last. The only saving grace was Dovekit, who shared the same timid disposition of her mother. But the other three were more than one sane mother her age could handle. Of course, she coddled them, that was the fun part. But when they would fuss, she found herself negotiating with them. And ultimately bending to their will. Duskstripe was supportive of his new family but didn't have much more of a backbone then his mate did. So together, they did the best they could.
Tansykit had the most spirit of them all. A short temper, pushy, impatient, high strung, and ready to go. She was feisty and found herself getting scolded a lot. Embarrassing her poor parents was nearly a daily event. But it was all in good fun, and there wasn't really any sort of consequence. But when she was given her mentor, she was met with a rude awakening. Leopardflight was an admirable warrior, a brave soul for agreeing to handle Tansypaw. But it was the dedication of the older she-cat who made the little terror into what she is today.
She had never really been ordered around before, so when Leopardflight started calling shots, Tansypaw had been quick to object. Continuing to argue even after her mentor had declared a final decision. The new apprentice thought she was a force to be reckoned with. Refusing to just allow Leopardflight to be so bossy. But over the next moon, it seemed as if she spent more time doing the worst chores than she did training. Her rage and annoyance had reached a boiling point, and at the time, she hated her mentor. It came to the point where it became a treat to be able to go out like her brothers and sister got to. That she thought she could outsmart her mentor by being quiet. By making an effort to hold her tongue. And by doing that, she could trick Leopardflight into taking her out more.
It wasn't until a little later on did she realize that was all Leopardflight had wanted in the first place. She couldn't help but voice her annoyance and rebellion every now and then. After all, it was still there. She just had to be more careful around her mentor. It was more or less, a filter she had enforced in her mind when in the presence of the older she-cat. Something that she could turn on and off ... most of the time. In the short time that they had actually been able to accomplish lessons, Tansypaw excelled. And she enjoyed it, more than she thought she would. Tuning her natural skills, and improving herself. She could feel herself becoming better in each session. And to be able to feel that kind of progress ... well. She never wanted to return to camp.
And one day, Leopardflight brought new ideas to their session. Ones that seemed silly at first. She had never seen hunting styles and battle moves that seemed so .... erratic. And if the short choppy movements followed by bounding leaps confused her, she could only imagine how confused an enemy warrior would be. It was unique. And she loved it. Dedicating herself to its practice. The other apprentices mocked her when they saw her practicing the moves back in camp. Teased her by asking if she were chasing butterflies. But when she began consistently winning their spars, they no longer had any room to talk. And that only fueled her ego.
Over the course of her apprenticeship, Leopardflight challenged her in ways that she could have never imagined. And in this day, she is grateful for the guidance. She was happy with Howlstar's decision, and never got to properly thank him. For if it had been any other warrior, her start would have likely been a lot rougher than it actually had been. It was difficult, but her mentor was the first cat to teach her respect. And one of the strongest bonds she maintains today.
Tansypaw just recently earned her warrior name. With the death of RiverClan warriors at the hands of ThunderClan. She and her mentor were among the party sent to respond to the unnecessary bloodshed. The ginger she-cat fought bravely, but many more lost their lives that day. Including Howlstar. The newly named Scorchstar gave her the name Tawnyspring, which she would wear proudly. But that wasn't the biggest surprise. Scorchstar also named Leopardflight his deputy, and in that, she made sure it was her voice that cheered the loudest.
