lightningstar basics name • Lightningkit > Lightningpaw > Lightningfleet > Lightningstar age • 47 moons gender • m sexuality • demisexual. clan • thunderclan rank • leader appearance allegiance • a handsome solid white tom with yellow-green eyes full • Like the dance of a thousand snowflakes, alabaster fur swirl and whirl over the tom's smart frame. It encompasses the cottony snow, silky beneath any paw, the envy of toms and mollies alike. Pastel pink paints itself upon two prominent ears, sensitive skin, and a gentle nose. A different hue tints his eyes an unassuming color of yellow-green. So simple, yet so handsome; his image crafted by a father of the same feather, and a mother only faintly remembered through the lullabies of kittenhood. His voice is a ray of moonlight, cool and sharp to any ear fortunate enough to listen. His movements marked with carelessness and leisure. His step neither calculated nor mocked. And, like the fallen shards of chilly clouds, Lightningstar's attitude betrays his grace. personality - The flame that never was. Lightningstar is the moniker for utter lack of interest. He is meant to be the way that he is. He just doesn't seem to care enough about anything. His attitude is woven so deep with his apathy; he walks with no rush and his voice is a placid and dull tone. His world is just a few shades greyer than most. His taste seems muted and lackluster. It takes a great amount of effort to overwhelm him, and it comes to a strange advantage. He isn't surprised by his rivals anymore; they're so predictable anyway. And his hand in combat is one that baffles his opponents; a long-planned sneak attack is like a frolick in the flowers for Lightningstar. He can't be bothered. - But, like a chink in his unintentional armor, Lightningstar is someone susceptible to flattery. He takes bribes, not without thought, however, and he adores to hear his name on somebody's tongue. It is the easy way to devastate the tom; cruel flirting goes a long way with him. He won't admit it, and perhaps shut down any ostentatious praise. He loves it, though, and some might find it easier than expected to break into his uninterested wall. + The lively mind of his apprenticehood stuck with him to his adulthood. He is as sharp as a bee's sting and as clever as a sly fox. It's easy for him to come to early conclusions and his observant gaze latches onto every single detail. His attitude definitely betrays his intelligence, for his foes are stunned by his thorn-like perception. Once upon a time, his father thought so low of him that he didn't expect his own son to blackmail him. It had perplexed the older tom: how in all of Starclan did Lightningstar manage to dig up his father's past? Don't confuse his seemingly lackadaisical front for stupidity. He may come and bite you in the tail if you're not careful. - His head wanders afar from his body. It lingers in daydreams and longs for respite. It ignores the constant whining of the many warriors of Thunderclan. What he is is an absent-minded tom. He finds himself staring off into nothingness, lost in thought and in no hurry to come back. He frequently forgets important tasks and if it weren't for his duty as a leader, he would be lost in his mind. It makes him a not-so-destined ruler, but his intelligence and strength somehow make up for his lack of presence. + If Lightningstar ever finds himself at the bottom of a ravine, you'll rest assured he will find a way to climb out. Contradictory to his adamant unconcern, Lightningstar is intensely persistent. He holds his opinions in high value, and his will to live outshines much of everything. His whole demeanor shifts when he is put in stressful situations; he face is aflame with quiet chutzpah. He works to solve a problem, no matter how rough. When you comment on his sudden shift of personality, Lightningstar genuinely has no idea what you're talking about. It's something built within him, to never give up. Perhaps it is because of Thunderclan's attitude to quitters or just a saving grace for his usually unsavory constitution. + Straightforward. Like his father's blatant infidelity, Lightningstar can't help but not lie. His aunt would hammer into him "Lie if you need to. Lie if you don't want to hurt someone. Lie if you need to." Well, when they lied about their relationship, Lightningstar shaped into the being that he is right now. His inability to lie is yet another saving grace to his already lacking-of-a-personality. Many a cat appreciate his frank opinion, and if anyone needs a snap back to reality, Lightningstar is typically the one to go to. = Lastly, one must not forgot how Lightningstar is truly an awkward individual. His deadpan humor usually falls flat with his heroic clanmates, and he finds himself forever explaining his jokes to his warriors. He fails to improve upon his outward appearance, and many mistake his almost childish sheepishness for a weakness. It's almost an advantage to be so awfully unpleasant, but Lightningstar doesn't find it to be so. relationships father • lightstone, male, alive mother • erminesong, female, alive aunt • laurelfang, female, alive history One child, a lonely sum, birthed on one thunderous afternoon. The wind blew violently against the nursery den that day, but the den held her bouche shield to protect every being inside. Fortunately, the child's mother held no anxiety, and her brow was restful on her harlequin crown. The father stood just outside the entrance, wary about his mate's privacy. The mother's sister also stood at the entrance, casting a longing glance on the tom. The sister spoke softly, her voice breaking, "Congratulations." The mother was oblivious to her mate's infidelity, and even her child will come to know of it. The child's aunt hovered close, like a vulture waiting for an opportunity to steal another's prey. She would raise the child as an extension of the mother, caring for the kit as if he were her own. The kit would remember her, even now, long after she has departed. But for now, she's just a second mother, an onlooker, and the father's amusement. The mother purred, unaware that her sister also stood just outside, bringing her trusting kit closer to her warmth. One name practically etched itself on the kit, the mother dropping the name like honey. Lightningkit. The boy resembled his father; striking white fur, even as a little kit, with no mark on him. The mother breathed calmly, her heart glowing with love and pride. Sickness will claim her life the following moon, but, for now, all she cared for was her wonderful creation. Father was a strong soul, capable of swaying his leader's opinion and make lasting impressions in his clanmates. His past was scarred with corruption, greed, lust, and battle, and it fed into his personality. He hoped for a better son, and, with every chance he received, he imposed his dogma upon little Lightningkit. Sermonize did Father, everything the kit did was found at fault. His mistakes were emboldened, to be subsequently smeared with degrading punishments. The kit, young as he was, believed Father to be his whole reality. He wandered away from his adoptive mother, lured by his father's demanding attitude. There came a day, when Lightningkit became a 'paw, that the newly made apprentice realized how oppressive his father was. Never did the tom truly enjoy roughhousing or play, for it all amounted to benefit Father's ego. If his son was tougher than the nursery kits, if he was unbeatable, it proved that a part of his history still continued with his kit. This cruel and negligent demeanor to raising a child profoundly affected this lightning and ergo, never shone as brightly as it should. Mentor was lazy, lax, and lackluster. She didn't bring so much to the budding intelligence of Lightningpaw. It was like hunting down a bird with a broken wing: too easy and not much of a hard herb to swallow. Disappointment marked his apprenticehood, as he found himself still relying on his father to teach him, despite his previous conclusions. His mentor just didn't bring much of a challenge! It was frustrating! Every day, he would see his fellow peers, bruised and joints popping, fulfilled with the actual training for battle. Every day, his mentor would go over the importance of resourcefulness and prudence, and it dug Lightningpaw into a ditch of ignorance. He would retain what he learned, however, but his apprenticehood was just something left to be desired. Lightningpaw soon received his warrior name, Lightningfleet, and his father couldn't be any prouder. His only son finally became a warrior, and his wishes were just about to be granted. He would tell his son about his ancestry, one cold winter morning. He would tell the woes his ancestors had gone through and the many battles they have won. Many moons ago, a she-cat mated with a Windclanner, producing three kits. Those three kits would lead successful lives, and one even ruled Windclan for a certain amount of time. He would father illegitimate children, however, born into Thunderclan. From then on, Thunderclan has gifted a strong line of brutes and ladies, all influencing the track of their clan. But, as the stories wove themselves deep into Thunderclan history, Lighningfleet's father mentioned how his grandfather participated in Sedgestar's corruption. Lightningfleet's great-grandfather was the reason Sedgestar became leader many moons ago. And Lightningfleet frowned wondered why his father would share such a thing with him. His question was answered, and his father promised to make him a leader, no matter what it took. His father believed he had amounted to nothing and wished for his son to attain greatness. The promise was kept, bonding father and son into a sort of unbreakable curse. Lightningfleet was forced to work for his father as his father was forced to work for him. A sudden and dark plan brewed deep within Lightningfleet, a plan he would not know he festered for many moons to come. Warriorhood proved to be challenging for the pale tom. Through many a hardship and his encounters with romance, Lightningfleet began to shape into the tom that he is now. His apathy culminated, and nothing nipped it in the bud. His intelligence developed. He was beginning to earn respect from his clanmates, and soon, the leader. His father played into it, and he did anything he could to polish his son's unsavory demeanor. He made no effort to change his personality, and it was one of the gravest mistakes he could have ever done. To be frank, insanity hid behind Father's green lens. His incessant need to push his son higher in the pecking order drove him insane. The leader was one-track minded, and she was wary of manipulative cats. It took so long, with many mistakes along the way, for the leader to even consider Lightningfleet as valuable. But, something collapsed Father's foundations. After Poplarstar's death, her deputy, Harepool, overlooked Poplarstar's suggestion for Lightningfleet and chose another tome by the name of Juncoface. His father was livid. Harestar believed that Lightningfleet was perhaps not the best choice due to his personality and decided for Juncoface. Lightningfleet cared, marginally, but this deeply affected his father. A moon after Juncoface's promotion, she was found dead near the Windclan border. Due to insufficient evidence, Windclan was not put to blame and Harestar believed it to be accidental. And, luck had struck Lightningfleet, the tom was chosen to become the deputy. Through the moons following Harestar's reign, the leader found himself in multiple dangerous situations. His lives were depleting faster than average, and his last life was taken by a rogue cat when Harestar was summoned to visit Starclan. Lightningfleet became Lightningstar, and the clan couldn't be any more concerned. Whispers and rumors circulated around his ascension to the position. His father was quick to expel any dissenting opinions, but Lightningstar had concluded that his father was being a bit too eager. A moon into his leadership, a few Thunderclanners investigated Juncoface's death further. And with the aid of the medicine cat, many had surmised it to be murder, and the main suspect to be Father. Like a whirlpool, controversy flared up yet again around Lightningstar's leadership. He was forced to exile his father, but something within him felt relieved to finally get rid of him. He was a burden, much like an illness, and Lightningstar finally breathed clear air. |
