He has slightly taller ears, a chin and muzzle that fades from light brown to white, the classic tabby "M" that marks his forehead and a neat, short bob-tail. He has unremarkably dull green eyes. personality +Empathetic > Porcupineheart has always felt more for others than he has himself. He is able to connect to cats easily through the empathy that he feels for all. He will work himself to death for the benefit of those around him. He has always taken it upon himself to heal any cat's pain - whether that pain is emotional or physical - , for their pain is his pain. He is both healer and therapist to not only his Clan, but any cat that he feels needs his aid. He is loyal to his Clan, but will not allow any wounded cats to go untreated while he is around to help them. +Positive > He has always chosen to look on the bright side of things. He has always been optimistic. He refuses to worry, at least until it is actually time to worry. If Porcupineheart is worried, there is a reason to be! Usually, however, he is a bright and happy cat that does his best to lift the spirits of everyone around him. +Determined > Porcupineheart has never understood the idea of giving up on anything. He fights until he cannot fight anymore. To him, there is hardly ever any such thing as a lost cause. He is a firm believer in "where there is a will, there's a way". He is the will, he finds the way. -Trusting > His mentor used to get on him all the time about how trusting he is. Being trusting usually isn't a bad thing, but Porcupineheart is trusting to a fault. He can be quite gullible as well, as he is generally naive of the world outside of his herbs and cobwebs. This paired with his need to help those that are hurt, he could very easily be pulled into a terrible situation for not only himself but perhaps for his Clan as well. -Focused > Another trait that is usually a good trait to have, but Porcupineberry gets so focused at times that he is sucked into a "tunnel vision" version of the world. He often gets so caught up in what he's doing, usually only while trying to save a life or something else just as dire, that he forgets what's around him, who he's talking to. He will snap at almost anyone that he deems distracting, whether it be the Leader, the Deputy, or even his own patient at times. This is something that he cannot help, but also something that he is trying to work on. He will also go too long without food, water or sleep, so he needs to be reminded at times when he is working with a cat that needs around-the-clock care, or multiple patients at once. -Easily Frustrated > Though naturally upbeat and positive, Porcupineheart can become frustrated rather easily when he either can't figure out what is wrong with a sick cat, why a remedy of his isn't working like it is supposed to, or when he is dealing with an uncooperative patient that keeps setting his treatments behind schedule. Having no idea how to deal with or vent his frustrations, he usually ends up sulking in his den by himself until he is able to either sleep it off or has mulled over the matter for so long that he no longer remembers exactly why he was frustrated or upset in the first place. relationships Father: Wheatnose - a long-haired pale ginger tom with green eyes. [Living] history Porcupinekit was born to Honeyflower and Wheatnose of WindClan alongside his brother and two sisters; Hollykit, Gingerkit and Foxkit. He was very fortunate in his upbringing as they were a very happy family and were being raised in the best weather that newleaf could offer. Porcupinekit, since he was old enough to see and hear, had always shown signs that he was different from his siblings. Any negativity that was around him that he could see or hear visibly upset him and he would have to curl up with his mother until the feelings anger, sadness or pain of any kind had passed. As he grew older, he learned to manage how upset he became when others around him were angry or upset. At four moons, he was told that the Medicine Cat received a sign from StarClan; that he was meant to follow the path of a healer. Hearing this, he only felt relief and happiness. He had been dreading the apprentice ceremony that would come in two moons time. He had honestly not thought that he could handle the responsibilities that becoming a warrior would entail. He didn't think that he had it in him to cause another pain. Once he began his training at six moons old, he found that he took to it naturally. Herbs and berries were easy to identify and he quickly memorized where they could be found within WindClan territory. It took him longer to remember what their uses were, which herbs were better for which wounds, which illnesses, etc., but he worked diligently to learn as much as he could as quickly as possible. He wanted to be of service to his Clan and the only way to do that was to know how to help them. He struggled with learning even the most common of hunting techniques. He wasn't particularly skilled in the trade either. Every once in a while, he was also required to join the battle training that the other apprentices worked on learning every day. He was always beaten, no matter how hard he tried. When he tried. Most of the time, he crouched in front of his faux opponent simply unable to move. Eventually, Tormentilbloom gave up on the battle training. Porcupinepaw received his full name, Porcupineheart, as fifteen moons old and served underneath Tormentilbloom for several more moons afterward. Though he could function on his own well, he was relieved that StarClan has not yet chosen to take his mentor from him. He was grateful for his mentor's guidance and reassurance. At twenty-four moons, Porcupineheart woke up one morning and realized exactly why StarClan had chosen him as a Medicine Cat Apprentice as early as they had. Tormentilbloom had passed peacefully in the night of old age. In his mentor's wake, he vowed to himself that he was always do more than his very best to make Tormentilbloom and his Clan proud. |
