FAQ
01. Are these the original Clans from the series?
While we have RiverClan, ShadowClan, ThunderClan, and WindClan, they are not exactly descended from the same story that we follow in the books, nor is their origin similar. This also means we have a completely self-designed territory as found in the Clan Info tab!
02. How does the Dark Forest play into this?
Occasionally, we will have an event in which the Dark Forest is meddling with the Clans again. Just wait patiently! (^:
03. Can I roleplay a Dark Forest character?
For less major plots, you can expect only us staff to be roleplaying a disposable Dark Forest character. However, when we have a major event, you can expect applications to be opened up! The same goes for StarClan characters.
04. Can I apply directly for a high rank?
We hold auditions whenever a spot opens up. At the beginning of the site we are fine with people seeking out strictly high ranks, but otherwise we would prefer for you to have at least one regular character first before you go pursuing a high rank.
05. Can my character be discriminatory for plot reasons?
Although we can understand why you might want to stir trouble for your character, we ask that the only type of discrimination shown both in-character and out-of-character is the "discrimination" the Clans have for one another and as well as outsiders. Your character can have a past where they've faced discrimination (i.e. Scorchstar having transphobic parents), but nothing as such can be acted out in roleplay.
06. How do battles work on this site?
On Escaping Shadows, border skirmishes can be induced by any regular member. We strongly recommend that leaders observe these threads and step in only if they deem necessary, however: if a leader does not step in, the involved warriors should, in character, report to the leader about the fight. Wars and battles going on between two Clans, however, should be negotiated between two or more Clan leaders over PM with staff observation and approval.
07. Can I make a perma-queen character?
No. Unfortunately on Escaping Shadows, queen is not a permanent rank and cannot be made.
08. Are daylight warriors allowed?
No, daylight warriors are prohibited.
09. What is mentor-lock?
In order to ensure that we have enough mentors for kits 4 moons+ and apprentices, we make sure that there are always 3 warriors more than apprentices/kits. If this statement is not true, a clan is put into mentor-lock, meaning kits and apprentices can not be applied for that Clan until there are enough warriors again.
