A creature of innocence and kindness who doesn't let the world get her down no matter what life brings her way. She always prefers to look on the bright side of life. Even when there are dark clouds rolling in on the horizon her eyes always seeking out the rainbow at the end of the storm. Peachpaw is at her core a playful daydreamer who would prefer to lose herself into her own world of imagination rather than live in the real world full of agony. Whether its counting stars, playing in the rain, or watching clouds, its always a blast when Peachpaw's involved. However, she does enjoy being useful as well, and is willing to go to great lengths to make sure she does a job right when asked. No matter what it is that's been asked of her. Her greatest goal in life is to be the greatest best friend she can be. Though if the chance to explore a new area does appear she won't hesitate to take the chance. Her passion for discovery and love of new things drives her into uncharted territory with each passing day. After all, who knows what adventures there are out there? Maybe even just beyond the camp entrance or even at the end of the rainbow! An eternal source of upbeat optimism, there's not much that can get Peachpaw down. She always chooses to look on the brightest sides of life and encourages everyone else to do so with her. Should she see anyone else who sorrow has visited upon, she won't hesitate to bounce her way to them and attempt to make them smile. One way she does this is through telling jokes: sadly, she is not the best comedian. The chuckles she gets from the jokes are actually from her extremely poor attempts rather than the actual jokes themselves. But that doesn't stop her from telling them. Peachpaw suffers from a short attention span in most situations, and is prone to getting bored easily if its not a subject she finds much interest in. As this tends to include almost anything regarding battle or hunting she is not the best in either skill. But with her infectious bubbly persona and over-friendliness, she is hard to dislike. With Peachpaw, there is never such a thing as too many friends! Sadly Peachpaw is not without her faults; she's nothing short of an absolute klutz. From the moment she could walk, she was always tripping over her own paws and tail. More often than not she has fallen face first to the dirt, but she just laughs it off and encourages others to laugh with her. The sight is quite funny, why not make a joke of it? Though sadly while most do laugh with her, there are those who shun her for her antics. Cases in point are her own biological family. Ashamed of his daughter's behavior and tendencies, her own father disowned her quite publicly in front of the Clan. The incident is one of the only few that has truly shaken Peachpaw, who now has little to no contact with her biological father or eldest brother. Secretly, she desires their approval, but no matter how hard she tries it is impossible. The situation has left her somewhat depressed and curious as to her usefulness to the Clan. She cannot force herself to have an interest in the boring tasks of hunting and fighting, or stop herself from tripping over her own paws. But being unable to do so means she she will forever be shunned. It is a constant mental and emotional struggle for her whether to decide to be what her father wants her to be or continue to be true to herself. When the pressure gets to be too much, she will often leave the camp and wander away to a quiet little nook somewhere and stay there till someone comes looking for her. But for all evidence to the contrary, Peachpaw does show a more solemn and serious side to her usually cheery outlook. And despite what others might think about her at first impression, this "secret" side of her shows itself more often than most would believe. Beyond her lack of hunting and battling skills, her true talents lie elsewhere, particularly in diplomatic situations, both within her Clan and in relations with other Clans. Peachpaw is well aware of tension and when a situation is spiraling out of control. And she's not afraid to step in when she's needed to diffuse the situation. Most of the time she wears her heart on her sleeve and lets it bleed for anyone and anything. She loves passionately and wholeheartedly, whether that be friends, family or Clan, and once you gain her trust its hard to break it. No matter the cat, she will not stand by and watch someone suffer. Her one hatred in the world is any form of pain; emotional, mental or physical. Giving up is never an option in these sort of situations, not to her at least, and she won't rest till the pain is chased away. No matter what it takes, she'll always be willing to go the extra mile. Especially for a friend. A naturally brave and loyal heart beats within her chest; not in the way most warriors would expect however. Her bravery comes in her desire to prevent wars and battles rather than fight then, and her loyalty comes from wishing to see her Clan prosper in peace. To Peachpaw war and bloodshed is the absolute stupidest thing to ever be devised. In the end no one really wins anything, and the only thing anyone gets is injuries and loss. She'd rather do away with all of it if she could. A tender soul too pure for the cruel world, there is much that Peachpaw has yet to learn about the forest and the creatures within. In spite of her short attention span she does desire to learn about the world she lives in, and enjoys almost anything that surprisingly doesn't involve hunting or fighting. One of her favorite subjects to learn about is of their warrior ancestors in the Silverpelt. The thought of starry pelted cats fascinates her like no other. Perhaps one day she might even meet one of them? It could happen! relationships mother • heathergaze, molly, deceased - died in kitting father • minkclaw, tom, alive brother • foxpaw, tom, alive brother • oakpaw, tom, alive history • Late into Cherrystar's reign, the warrior named Minkclaw was a rising star in WindClan. He was fierce, hailed from a bloodline known for its excellent warrior stock, and every apprentice assigned to his training excelled when they became warriors and fishers. There was even heavy rumor that Minkclaw's success would gain him the favor of becoming the next deputy once the position became open again. Minkclaw was not ignorant of these rumors, and did his best to make sure they would eventually become truth. And to add the final touch once he reached a suitable age and popularity, he decided to take a mate and continue his successful bloodline in future warriors. To help him with this endeavor, he needed to choose a proper mother for his legacy. Several mollies caught his eye as prospective partners, but in the end he favored the young and quiet WindClan molly named Heathergaze. The courtship between the two was short and very professional; Minkclaw aggressively pursued the timid molly, and within an even shorter time Heathergaze fell heavy with Minkclaw's kits. Right away, her new mate had her move straight into the Nursery, where he expected her to remain for the next two moons. Any attempt she made to try and take a step out of the Nursery was met with fierce backlash from Minkclaw; she was carrying his legacy and he dared her to place them in any sort of danger. The stress of being kept a virtual prisoner in her own Clan took its toll on Heathergaze, and in turn took a toll on her pregnancy. Starting on her second moon of pregnancy, problems started to arise. Heathergaze was racked with pain almost daily and coupled with the oppression from Minkclaw she fell into a depression. The medicine cat attempted to help and heal her, but as long as Minkclaw hovered there was no reprieve for the queen. • Relief finally came to the depressed young queen when her kitting happened one quarter moon too early. The medicine cat did all that was possible to try and save her, but the stress and depression had accumulated too far. As her last kit took its first breath, Heathergaze took her last, giving up the will to live in order to escape Minkclaw. Her former mate didn't twitch a whisker at her death, but instead turned to his new legacy. Three kits Heathergaze had given him before her untimely death, two toms and a single molly. In honor of their mother's sacrifice, Minkclaw named them the names he had heard she had desired. This is where Peachpaw's story begins. Minkclaw named the toms Oakkit and Foxkit, and the molly Peachkit. With these three, Minkclaw's legacy was more than secure, though his actions in the way he treated his mate had left his image in the Clan on shaky ground. Without her mother, Peachkit was left to be nursed by the many queens of the Nursery, constantly being shifted from nursing queen to nursing queen with her siblings. Minkclaw often visited, but didn't stay long before he felt the need to return to his warrior duties. As the three siblings grew older he would linger about a little longer, telling them stories of his father's exploits and his father's father's exploits. He emphasized on how they were the next in line to a grand legacy, and how they were expected to carry it on for the rest of their lives. Foxkit dutifully soaked it all in, happy for his father's attention; but from the start Peachkit was proving to be trouble. At least for Minkclaw. The kitten refused to sit still, and constantly wandered around the Nursery and endearing herself to the Queens resting there, what was worse was she was dragging her brother Oakkit along with her. Nothing her father did could make her sit still, and several times he lost his temper with her and sent her running to the nearest Queen for protection. Tensions grew extremely high in the Nursery whenever Minkclaw would arrive as the days passed. Believing their sister to be the cause, Foxkit slowly began to resent Peachkit and excluded her from their games, forcing Oakkit to follow when he could. Peachkit wasn't particularly bothered; snuggled next to a Queen's stomach, she would close her eyes and dream of enchanting worlds and grand adventures based on the stories she heard from the elders. Stories she much preferred to the teachings of her father. Minkclaw's fury was further stoked when Peachkit began to walk, or tried to at least. While her siblings took to walking easily, Peachkit stumbled and fell more often than she stood. The queens found it adorable, and upon hearing their soft chuckles Peachkit laughed with them. The only one who didn't laugh was Minkclaw. • Peachkit's sixth moon of life finally arrived, and with it, her apprenticeship - along with the apprenticeships of her two brothers. Unsurprisingly, Minkclaw sat in the front of the Clan gathering, regal and silent, as all three of his kits were ushered out. The queens had groomed them until their fur shone, and excitement passed through the siblings with each passing moment. Their father was the only one that seemed to be unmoved; the previous moon had seen the last life of Cherrystar extinquished, and the rise of the new leader Sandstar. The tom had been so certain that he would be chosen as deputy, only to be crushed when another was chosen instead. With only his kits left to turn to in an attempt to keep his image in the Clan pristine, he had made sure to try and spend more time with them in spite of his ill mood, putting more effort into trying to shape them into the perfect warriors he wanted them to be. As usual only Foxkit attempted to overachieve, while Peachkit was completely uninterested and still having Oakkit follow in her pawsteps - and with every passing day her father's irritation with her slowly turned to rage. This rage was evident as he glared daggers at his daughter as she and her siblings approached Sandstar together. As Peachkit took the final few steps, she stumbled on her paws and fell into the dirt - silently embarrassing her father but causing a chuckle through the rest of the Clan. Picking herself up and dusting herself off, Peachkit took a seat beside her brothers as though nothing happened and turned her eyes to Sandstar. From that moment, she and her siblings were titled Foxpaw, Oakpaw, and Peachpaw. • Assigned ____ as a mentor, Peachpaw was eager to begin her training, though the first quarter moon proved to be straining. Hunting and battling, as it turned out, were not as fun as the other kits in the Nursery had made it out to be, and to her the only thing good about being an apprentice was being able to leave the camp on adventures; running through the moors and weaving through the grass like her ancestors before her had done. But over the next two moons, while her brothers excelled in their studies as their father expected, Peachpaw fell behind in favor for bug chasing, exploration and cloud watching. This, coupled with everything else he'd been put through with his daughter, was the final straw for Minkclaw. With no obvious signs of any improvement or drive for perfection as her siblings had shown, Minkclaw lost his temper at Peachpaw for the final time only two moons after her apprenticeship. After she had once again tripped over her own tail, he yowled his anger to the sky, cursing StarClan for giving him a failure of a daughter and publicly disowned her in camp, telling her to not call him father or her brothers her siblings again before stalking away. Peachpaw was left in shock, shivering the dirt in the wake of her father's outburst and so confused. Seconds later, she was swept up to the side of her mentor, who glared daggers after Minkclaw. Oakpaw broke away from their father to rush to her side, barreling over Foxpaw in the process. When Minkclaw attempted to call Oakpaw back, the young tom instead publicly disowned him in return, siding with his sister instead. Now left with no father and only one brother, the events in question have caused Peachpaw to question her own worth to the Clan... and whether Minkclaw was right to do what he did after all. |
