MAGPIEFACE basics name • magpieface age • forty-four gender • f sexuality • lesbean clan • windclan rank • warrior appearance allegiance • a striking black-and-white she-cat with dark, green eyes full • magpie's face has always been distinctive; a black mask covers it, split by a white triangle at the nose. the lower half of her face is white save a dash of black on her chin. her green eyes are large and striking, angled to give her an intense look no matter her mood. her back is mostly covered with black, though on her right flank the white of her lower half creeps up over her shoulder and side, broken by a black splotch. her tail is entirely black as well. personality positives +objective; she can tackle issues from a surprisingly unbiased standpoint, processing both sides of an argument before choosing the one with the most positives. +critical; she reads cats well. she can pull out other's motivations and understand their actions because of this. +humorous; she loves to laugh, it lightens her mood better than any other remedy. she's quick to see the comedy in situations, though she may be the first and only. +laid-back; it's not easy to get under her skin. though she's critical of others, she mostly keeps these thoughts to herself- after all, if you expect little of others, and think everyone's stuck in their ways, there's not much to be disappointed by. she takes a simple attitude to life, embracing her lack of control over it with the phrase "if it happens, it happens" >moody; she's prone to unpredictable moods. some days, it'll take every ounce of her will to rise from her den and not think of horrifically negative things, and others she'll be overwhelmingly energetic; chipper and cracking jokes like she'd never faulted in her stride. >dreamy; sometimes, when her mood is high enough, her mind takes her into great, imaginative relapses from the world. sometimes, she uses this to comfort herself on her bad days, too. negatives -reticent/wary; isn't one to easily develop new friendships, or openly share her thoughts with her clan-mates. her critical mind can make her distrustful. -unmotivated; whether it be from periods of melancholy or the comfort of a warm den, magpieface isn't always eager to do her duties, and oftentimes prefers to be alone in her nest. her view of the world, that she has no control and that's the way it is, while a comfort in difficult times, is another cause of this difficulty- and leads to the thought "if nothing matters, what's the point?" -apathetic; she sees some cats as not worth her time, and can't be bothered to lend them a second. she sees a lot of clan issues and drama as petty. -grudgeful; wrong her, or her family, and magpie won't be quick to forget. in her eyes, cats don't change, and no matter what efforts a cat makes her forgiveness is incredibly difficult to earn. etc. =she dreams of seeing the barn outside of WindClan territory, and wonders what horses look like up close. =though she desires companionship, she's quick to point out one doesn't need a mate, and doesn't get what all the fuss is about when it comes to toms and kitting. =hare hunting is quite thrilling to her when no one is watching, sometimes she lets the hare get little advantages to keep up the game. relationships mother • frostnose, female, alive father • spiderfoot, male, alive sister • badgernose, female, alive former apprentice • gingerstep, female, alive history magpie and badger's birth was unexpected; their mother, frostnose, had informed no one of her pregnancy and hid it well. rumors swirled about their sire, a popular one being that he was a kittypet. the rumor's, though they stung at first, would become merely annoying and irrelevant as magpie grew. as a kit, magpie preferred her mother's side. the den was warm, and frostnose's stories of the outside world enchanting enough. it took a lot of pressure to get magpie out, and she would hide behind her more forward sister as badgerkit explored camp and chattered with their clan-mates. magpie didn't know why, but meeting new cats pinched her with anxiety. she wasn't eager to become an apprentice, scared of the change to her life that would bring. she was given to a she-cat named kestralclaw, and magpie would soon greatly admire her. kestralclaw was young, but incredibly fiery and quick-witted, and with an unbeatable sense of humor. she never belittled magpie or treated her like she was too young, and soon magpie came of her shell under kestral's guidance. during their apprenticeship, badgerpaw pushed herself to the point of utter exhaustion some nights. magpiepaw noticed this and worried about her, but let her be. it was then she realized her sister's great drive to improve herself, and though she admired this quality from afar, magpie would never quite mirror it. a certain clan-mate had begun hanging around their mother a lot; a tom named spiderfoot. to magpie, he was just a speck on her radar- she couldn't care less about some random tom her mother talked too. until, however, badgerpaw overheard a conversation between the two; apparently, that tom was their father. they talked it out, confused and dismayed, but agreed not to address their mother with the issue, and let her come forward first. meanwhile, magpie was nearing the end of her training and had grown tremendously. hunting became her specialty, she and kestral working together expertly to flush out and catch hares together. she also developed a bond with another apprentice named sycamorepaw, who's sister she found incredibly overwhelming to be around. on the day of their warrior ceremony, frostnose came forward with the truth. magpie's face remained unwavering throughout, and she didn't offer her mother anything but a shrug when she watched for her children's reactions. cold anger clutched magpieface when she found frostnose and spiderfoot becoming a pair, and she distanced herself to repress the frustration. she had no control over her mother's choices, so she avoided the subject as much as she could. spider draws nothing but ire from her, which she shows as cold indifference to him. to her, he could have come forward moons ago and taken responsibility, but he didn't. as far as she's concerned, that tom is incapable of change and is the same, careless foxheart as before. upon sandstar's ascension, so too came badgernose's appointment to deputy; the day filled magpieface with speechless pride. she sensed it coming, as she had watched her work so hard for moons. |
